A year in the life of little Joey!

Shannon and Joe welcomed baby Joey to the world, and he really lucked out with snagging such fantastic parents. I’ve known Joe for years, and it’s been so amazing to watch his life fill up with such joy! He and Shannon are so great together, and Joey is surrounded by love and laughter. He was just a tiny, sleepy bundle of smiles for his newborn session… Joe is a true outdoorsman, and the father-son hunting adventures are already happening 🙂 And oh my gosh that little deer outfit! Such a good time with the happy new family!

Six months later, cuteness still going full blast! Joey loved exploring the Hoppily Ever After Farms gardens with his good boy Radar, and big brother Chase joined us so we could get the official full family portrait! He is such a happy, smiley little boy, and even just laying on a blanket with his toys is a great time for him. Such a doll.

Nine months old isn’t too early for deer season! Joey had a little help with his tree stand from dad, but brought the buck home all by himself! This tiny outdoorsman cleaned up for some Michigan football, and also to help dad with a little surprise…

Who better to help dad pop the biggest question of his life? Joey had a secret hiding on his shirt, and when Shannon finally noticed…

She said yes! Congratulations, Shannon and Joe, I’m so excited for you two!! And you five as a family!

For Joey’s first birthday, things got festive as we planned the family Christmas picture, and then a cake smash to get the party going! He wasn’t sure how to feel about the frosting on his hands, but he loved smushing his feet into it! Some family portraits outside with just enough snow for great winter atmosphere, and Joey showing off his adorable winter hat as he played on the sled. It was so fun being able to watch him grow up this first year, and one of the reasons I really love Clicking Through the Lives of Others. That first year goes by so fast, and is so fun to look back on – helping busy new parents capture some of those moments is so gratifying. And sometimes in the middle of it all, you get a proposal too 🙂
