I’ve decided to take a step back from blogging for a little while. That’s not to say that it’s forever, just for a while. I have a ton to get caught up on before the holiday season and the reality is I’m not a writer, a blog post takes me literally hours to create and those hours could better be sent servicing my clients. Writing stories has never been something I was good at, and I’m way better at telling the story with my camera.
I put so much pressure on myself to blog, because that’s what I’ve been taught. Blog for SEO, blog to tell the story for your clients, blog to share pictures, blog to highlight favorite vendors, blog, blog, blog… The problem is that when I set aside time to blog, I wind up staring at the screen wondering what in the world to say. And when I finally start typing I feel like I’m saying the same things over and over. Putting my thoughts and feelings into words is difficult for me. You should see my husband trying to figure out what I’m saying sometimes. It’s almost comical. Except he usually has no idea what I’m talking about and then I end up get frustrated trying to explain.
I will however be posting sneak peeks on my Facebook page rather than blogging for the time being at least until I get caught up. You’ll get to see some of our latest sessions much quicker this way! To the clients awaiting their blog post, I’m truly sorry and I hope that you’ll appreciate getting your galleries and album designs much faster. 🙂
And with the busy fall season upon us and Mini Sessions announced, I’m not sure I’ll be coming up for air let alone blog anytime soon. 🙂 And just In case you missed the Fall Mini Announcement, here it is. Along with the story I posted on my Facebook page yesterday.
“A while ago I found out that the very first friend I had as a little girl growing up was diagnosed with stage 4 Choriocarcinoma. She’s a mommy of 4 and fighting her way through this terrible disease. She’s currently undergoing clinical trials and medical bills are climbing. If this latest trial doesn’t work, she is hoping to undergo treatment at the Burzynski Clinic in Texas. I know the pain, stress and cost of treatments and clinical trials after going through my Mother in Law’s battle with Cancer last winter. Although our lives have moved Missy and I far from each other, I wanted to do whatever I can to help my friend and her family out.
I’ve decided to offer Fall Mini Sessions this year at my new residential studio and will be donating all of the proceeds. Rather than just offering mini’s for a day or two, I’ve decided to open up the entire month of October for my special friend.
Sessions are $175 and will include a 30 minute portrait session, downloadable digital files and a set of 25 Christmas Cards. E-mail me at Shannon@clickingthroughlife.com to schedule your session.”
