Michelle & Rory’s MSU Engagement Session

Michelle had her eye on Rory in high school and when prom was approaching and she didn’t yet have a date, Michelle and her friend concocted a plan to get Rory to ask her to the dance.  Their plan worked and that’s when Michelle and Rory first started dating.  They continued to date throughout college while Michelle attended Saginaw Valley State University and Rory was at Michigan State.   Then during a visit to East Lansing after Michelle graduated, Rory had his own plan concocted.  He told her he wanted to take her out to dinner to celebrate her graduation and afterwards, they walked to the Capitol building to see it all lit up for Christmas.  There in front of the Christmas tree is where Rory asked Michelle to spend the rest of her life with him…

I love it when clients make their sessions personal and I love shooting in new locations, so when Michelle asked me if I would travel to East Lansing and the MSU campus for hers and Rory’s engagement session, of course I said yes!  I’m always willing to travel, so if you have a you have a location that means a lot to you and your fiance, make sure you inquire about my destination engagement sessions.

After the Capitol Building we headed to campus and the Children’s Gardens

Right next to the Children’s gardens is the Judith A DeLapa Perennial Gardens, that we couldn’t resist walking through.

Since they were both still attending college, most of their time spent together was at the library, so we thought it would be great to sneak some fun portraits in there

Rory suggested this book for this shot, too funny!

And just a few more favorites from the Beaumont Tower…

Michelle & Rory I had such a great time getting to know you and wandering campus with you guys, and I cannot wait for your wedding next year!

And here’s their slideshow!
